Lingoop Yakgwa — Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 28, 2026 · App name updated October 19, 2026 · Made by AiDEX LAB
The short version
- No account and no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your learning progress stays on your phone. App statistics include a few counts from each round you finish (section 4), not which words you studied.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may use your device's advertising identifier to show and measure ads.
- You can change your ad choices at any time, and the app works the same either way.
1. Who we are
Lingoop Yakgwa ("the app") is made by AiDEX LAB ("we", "us"). If you have any question about this policy or your data, write to lingoop.cs@gmail.com.
2. What stays on your phone
To remember where you are, the app stores these on your device only:
- Which words you have studied, their review boxes and review dates
- Your streak and how many rounds you did each day
- Your settings (sound, theme, listening questions, reminder time) and the deck you are learning
- A round you paused, so you can pick it up later
This information is not sent to us, except the round counts in the app statistics described in section 4. You can remove it with Settings → Erase my progress, or by deleting the app. How to delete your data, step by step: aidexlab.org/bites/delete-data.
3. Ads (Google AdMob)
The app is free and shows a short full-screen ad between some rounds, and an optional video ad you can choose to watch to keep a streak. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect:
- Your device's advertising identifier (Android advertising ID; on iPhone, the IDFA only if you allow tracking)
- IP address, device model, operating system and app information
- How you interact with ads (for example, whether an ad was shown or tapped)
Your choices:
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, we ask for your consent with Google's consent form before ads may be personalised. You can say no; you will still see ads, just not personalised ones. You can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & ad choices.
- On iPhone, Apple asks whether the app may track you across other apps. You can change this in the iPhone Settings app.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
Learn how Google uses this data: How Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
4. App statistics and crash reports (Google Firebase)
To find bugs and see which parts of the app work, we use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. They collect:
- App events (for example, that a round was finished — with how many new and review words it had, how many you got right on the first try, and which day of use it was since your first finished round — or that you switched decks), app version, device model and operating system version
- A random app instance identifier created for this installation (it is replaced when you use Settings → Erase my progress)
- Your approximate location (country or region), derived from your IP address
- When the app crashes, a technical crash report with a random installation identifier
They do not include your name, email, what you type or your advertising ID. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, app statistics are linked to the app instance identifier only if you agree in the consent form; otherwise they are sent without it. This data is processed by Google on our behalf. See Firebase privacy information.
5. Reporting an ad (iPhone)
If you report an ad, the app sends us the reason you picked, any note you choose to write, which ad it was (ad unit and response identifiers from Google), the time, the app version and the platform. Please don't write personal information in the note. We use reports only to block inappropriate ads.
6. Purchases (Android)
On Android you can pay once to remove the ads between rounds. The payment is handled by Google Play. We do not receive your card or payment details; Google Play only tells the app that the purchase exists.
7. Reminders
If you turn on the daily nudge, the reminder is scheduled on your phone at the time you pick. No server is involved. You can turn it off in the app's Settings or in your phone's notification settings.
8. Voice
The app reads Korean words aloud with your phone's built-in text-to-speech. It does not use the microphone and records nothing.
9. Children
The app is rated for ages 14 and up and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.
10. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Data leaves your phone only through the services described above (Google AdMob, Google Play and, if used, Google Firebase), for the purposes described above.
11. How long data is kept and your rights
- Data on your phone stays until you erase it or delete the app.
- Data collected by Google's services is kept according to Google's policies.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in Europe or the Personal Information Protection Act in Korea), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to object to its use. Because we don't keep an account for you, most requests are handled on your phone or by Google, but write to us and we will help.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top. For important changes, we will also tell you in the app or on its store page.
